- Income Information: Income sources, amounts, frequencies, and payment schedules
- Bank Account Names: Account nicknames for organization (no actual bank connections)
- App Preferences: Display settings, notification preferences, currency selection
- Security Settings: App Lock PIN (encrypted and stored securely by iOS)
- Category Customizations: Custom expense categories and colors
Data We Do NOT Collect

- Provide Insights: Generate charts and analytics from your local data
Security
- App Lock: Protect your financial data using Face ID, Touch ID, or PIN
- Biometric Authentication: Used solely for unlocking the app (processed entirely on-device by iOS)
Data Storage & Security
100% Local Storage: All your data is stored on your device using Apple's secure UserDefaults system, which is encrypted by iOS at the operating system level.

Third-Party Services
Apple StoreKit
BillSense uses Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase:
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple
- We do not see or store your payment information
- We receive only a subscription status indicator (active/inactive)
- Apple's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions
Apple Notifications
If you enable notifications, BillSense uses Apple's local notification system:
- Notifications are generated locally on your device
- No notification data is sent to external servers
- You control notification permissions in iOS Settings

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

- All your data is visible within the app at all times

- Pro users can export data to CSV format

Delete Your Data
- Delete individual bills, categories, or income sources at any time
- Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device
- No data remains on external servers (because we don't use any)
Modify Your Data
- Edit or update any information at any time
- No waiting period or approval required
Children's Privacy
BillSense is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The app is designed for adults managing their personal finances.
Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall BillSense, all data is automatically removed from your device.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
- Significant changes will be communicated through the app
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
International Users
BillSense operates entirely on your device and does not transfer data internationally. Your data never leaves your device, regardless of your location.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
For California residents: BillSense does not sell your personal information. We do not collect personal information as defined by the CCPA, as all data remains local to your device.
European Users (GDPR)
